If the Air Isn't Moving, How Can There Be Wind?

Currently (as I type these lines), the wind report for my area is "N at O mph." To my scientifically naive mind, it would be hard determine the direction of a wind with zero velocity. It would be hard to call it wind. Why not just "Wind: None"?

So True. That's Why Some Things can not be Taken Absolutely Literally.

While we're Talking about Wind, I Hope you'll Forgive me, but a Verse Jumped into my Head.

"The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth; so is every one that is born of the Spirit." (John 3:8, KJV)

It did occur to me that the breeze might be less than one mile per hour, and maybe if less than half a mile per hour would be counted as zero. Still, it strikes me as funny.

Your verse speaks to the mystery of the wind and the spirit.

Yes, The Same Thought Occurred to me, yet it is Funny Indeed.

I've Often Thought of that Verse that it is about How Predictable People can be when they are Motivated by Selfishness and Pride, yet if, through the Power of the Indwelling Spirit of God, they can Rise above that and Be Motivated by Love Rather than their Own Humanity, then they are Less Predictable, because they are Free to Act According to Love and Wisdom, are not Controlled by the Things that Motivate Others and are Harder to Manipulate and Control.

Interestingly, the Context of the Passage of Scripture that I Quoted is when Jesus was Explaining to Nicodemus about being Born Again and you will just have to Trust me when I Tell you that that was Accidental, not Deliberate.

In Actuality, the Focus is on the Spirit, not Jesus, and though there is a Oneness in the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and though it is Obvious that Jesus, in the Form of a Person, could Never Indwell a Person, so He must be a Spirit. Even so, the Idea of Jesus in Ones Heart (Based on Revelations 3:20) and the Spirit in Ones Heart (Based on John 3:5-8 or Actually 3:1-21 & Acts 2) Brings Different Images to Mind.

The Explanation is that Jesus Indwells in the Form of the Holy Spirit.

Sorry. I'm Getting into Theology, which you said you are not Interested in, yet I have a Really Hard Time Not Sharing my Thoughts and even though I do Fully Believe in what I am Saying, the Sharing of Thoughts is all that this is. Out of Respect, I have Limited the Number of Scriptures I have Actually Quoted to One. If anyone is Interested, they can Take the Time of their Own Free Will to Look the Rest of the Passages Up.

Remember, Theology is the Explanation of Scripture and Yes, I do Love to do that, yet I'll be quiet Now and Allow you to Decide for yourself what you Think these Scriptures Mean.

And since I don't have anything to contribute, Lista, I'm letting your comment speak for itself, without comment from me. :)

Ahh, You don't have a Song or a Quote? How About a Movie? Gone with the Wind. See I can do More than Quote Scripture. :)

Perhaps I Need to Give you a Link on my Blog. Would you Like a Few more Visitors?

Well, Lista, there's a song with a line that goes, "It's not the wind, it's the rain." And I do have another photo that shows where the wind has been, and can post that. More visitors? Would they be fans of randomness? Because that's all this blog is!

Another Song; "They Call the Wind Mariah". It's From the Musical "Paint Your Wagon".

Funny, when I was Looking for the Correct Spelling of Mariah, I Typed in "The Wind" and Came Up with a Couple of Other Songs; "Dust in the Wind", "The Answer is Blowing in the Wind" and "Against the Wind". I would Never have Thought of all of Those on my Own.

I have a Non-Political Section on my Blog Roll. I've Been Meaning to Add you, just haven't Done it Yet. Let me go Do that Now.

wind: N at 0 mph
Odd-google that and got
97,800,000 results. Hmm
My guess it's a default setting having to do with
north being the magnetic
direction regardless of
wind...or lack thereof?
..and maybe more logical than wind: 0 mph from no
particular direction? I would lobby for a blanket statement like NO WIND. :)

North as default, hmmm. Interesting possibility. I'll have to keep an eye on wind directions and see if 0 mph is always given as N.

BB, I see you list "Groundhog Day" as one of your favorite movies. Mine, too!
