I have been thinking and thinking about how to say this, and
here is what I want to say:
If the last straw had been the first, it
alone would not have broken the camel’s back, but each and every straw the
camel was asked to carry would have contributed its weight to the final result.

True, yet it is the Last Straw that should not have been Accepted as a Mission, or Imposed on an already Burdened Person. After awhile, we get to the Point at which, we can not Handle another Straw until we have relieved ourselves of some of the Straw that we are already Carrying. There is only room for so much Straw in our Baskets.
In reality, we should be Working on alleviating the Load before we get to the Last Straw.
